I began my scouting in 1971 when I was 8 years old as a Cub at 11th Camberwell Central Scout Group, a Jewish Scout Group in Camberwell that is no longer active.
I attended Cubs and Scouts, leaving when I was 15 as there were no Venturers at the group at that time.
I returned as a Scout Leader 3 years later as an 18 year old and remained Scout Leader at 11th Camberwell Central from 1981 until 1989. During this time I attended the Australian Jamboree in 1985, and the World Jamboree in 1988, both at Cataract Scout Park in NSW.
During this time, I ran a number of competition camps for all the Jewish Scouts and Guides, and I was a founding member of Yandina Rovers, a Jewish Rover Crew, which culminating in earning the Baden Powell award in 1989.
In 1989 I began a Venturer Unit at 11th Camberwell Central but in 1990 moved to Forestmont Venturers in Vermont where I remained as a Venturer Leader until 1996.
After a 15 year break as a leader, I returned as a Venturer Leader with 28th Glen Eira Venturers in 2010.
